DUBAI DESIGN DAYS 2017 – SONUSLEXICA

The Middle East’s only fair dedicated to rare, limited-edition collectible furniture and objects, Design Days Dubai brings together the most revered International and regional galleries and Makers. The event was held from 14th March to 17th March 2017 in Dubai.

Taking the form of an iceberg, the installation pays homage to the diverse spirit of the Emirates. ‘The Root’ or the submerged structure of the installation uses the recorded words as 3D visualizations of the sound samples of the word-growth, harmony, and peace which are then transformed into wooden totems, which will remain true to sonic waves produced by the spoken words. These totems are what sustains the growing urban jungle or as we articulate it ‘The Sky’.The Sky creates an evolved metaphor for the Dubai skyline by extracting a wave formation by bridging the peaks of the city horizon.

We had the honor of hosting His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai along with other dignitaries and industry leaders at the booth.
